We can't stress this enough: don't hesitate to wash your fruit and vegetables thoroughly before eating them. This removes unwanted residues, as well as any traces of pesticides or bacteria that may be present.
To do this, you can use a Guérande salt bath. Dilute 3 spoonfuls of "Le Guérandais" salt in half a cup of vinegar, then pour over fruit or vegetables in a large enough container. Cover with water and leave to soak for 20 minutes. Finally, rinse well and dry. They're ready to work with!
